Na Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke: Movie Review!
The newly released 'Na Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke' tells the story of a village boy, who lacks intelligence, Devaki Nandan Tripathi (Rahul) who comes to Mumbai to try his fate.
The newly wedded Devaki Nandan and his wifey (Narayani) finish up confronting lot of problems Mumbai.
Though Devaki finds a job at a weather agency, he is often the butt of funny stories or remarks by his fellow workers for his naivety and simple mindedness.
A big misapprehension leads the pair to a police station where a dishonest policeman (Paresh Rawal) asks Devaki to give proof that they are husband and wife for real.
What comes next forms the remaining plot.
Debutante actor-director's keen attempts go waste owing to awful storyline. The movie could have been a tolerable one time watch had it not been for the extremely annoying last 20 minutes of the movie, which exactly test your forbearance.
The only scenes that work are the post interval sequences between Devaki and the corrupt policeman.
Devaki plays his role completely and his naivety helps his role a lot. On the other hand, Devaki's wife barely gets any scope but hads best.
Ravi Kissen appeals in spite of playing a loud role.
Two veteran actors Paresh Rawal and Om Puri have again proved that they are the best. Neena Gupta and Ananth Mahadevan are almost okay, with Mahadevan being too loud.
The music by Lalit Pandit is not much impressive. The useless item song looks like added on at the last minute. Other technical departments are average.
'Na Ghar Ke Na Ghat Ke' is a type of a flick, which could have seemed fine theoretically while planning but flops on its face as the comedy in the last few spins not only goes too much over the top but also presents nothing new. (With Input from Agencies)
