Myer’s website crashes due to online rush

MyerThe official website of retail giant Myer crashed after millions of people tried to get attractive Boxing Day on the site.

The myer. com. au crashed several times yesterday due to the huge rush of people trying to get their favourite items on the website. Several customers took to the social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter to complain about the crashed site while some said that the website is working really slow.

Myer wrote on Facebook that, "Morning everyone - we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties with our website, and our team are working hard to get this fixed as soon as possible. We're very sorry for the inconvenience, and hope to have you shopping again soon!"

Retailers were expecting huge shopping during the post-Christmas shopping days. Estimates have shown that people in Australia are expected to spend $1.9 billion on sales today, which is 5.6 per cent higher than the same day of the previous year, according to Australian National Retail Association (ANRA) CEO Margy Osmond.

Experts say that the shoppers are taking the benefits of lower interest rates and an improving housing market and there is a sentiment of stability following the general elections.
