MultiChoice appoints Yolisa Phahle as the new CEO of M-Net SA
Imtiaz Patel, the Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice SA Group has said that the Yolisa Phahle has been appointed as the new CEO of M-Net SA.
Yolisa Phahle will assume her new role from the 1 April, 2014. Phahle has been working as the director for local interest channels at M-Net and will move to her new role from next month, the company said in a statement.
Phahle had joined M-Net in 2005 as general manager of Channel O and was alter appointed as director of special interest channels for SA in 2009. Phahle was tasked with the responsibility fo launching the Mzansi Magic channel in 2010 and she also oversaw the launch of two more channels under the Mzansi banner.
She is "a rare talent and has proven herself to be a dynamic and extremely capable all-round broadcasting executive. Yolisa has been at the forefront of local content development, which has led to more diverse growth in the viewership base," Patel said.
The decision to appoint Phahle comes as the company decided to focus M-Net's business on three core African markets - SA, West Africa and East Africa.
