Mudslide leaves 20 dead, 25 missing in PeruIt has been reported by the officials in Peru that a mudslide slammed into a Peruvian village, killing at least 20 people and leaving another 25 missing.

In addition to those killed Friday, 50 people were injured and at least 120 homes had been damaged or destroyed in the small village of Ambo in central Peru's Huanuco region, the BBC reported on Saturday.

It was further reported by the British broadcaster said heavy rains had caused a small lake on a mountain above the village to over-flown into a ravine.

Emergency teams had reach the scene and aid was being dispensed to those left homeless, Civil Defense official Hipolito Cruchaga has said. According to him officials are trying their level to resort normalcy as soon as possible.
