Motorola, Kodak Launches 5 Megapixel Camera Phone ‘ZN5’
American telecommunications firm, Motorola, in association with Kodak, launched a phone with a 5 megapixel camera, named Motozine ZN5 in the market.
The LG Viewty also comes under the same league.
Galvin Manufacturing Corporation and the Eastman Kodak Company combines the Motorola ModeShift and Kodak imaging technology into one cellular phone.
Jeremy Dale, corporate vice president, mobile devices marketing, Motorola, Inc said, “Today’s creative consumers not only want to be the photographer, but also the retoucher, the exhibitor and the critic, the Motozine ZN5 lets them be all the things they want to be.”
The newly launched handset (ZN5) comes equipped with a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera together with a Xenon flash, not only spread out light-receiving areas, but also perk up image quality in low light conditions.
Moreover, the ZN5 also boasts ‘Kodak imaging’ and ‘Kodak perfect touch’ technologies in order to improve pictures with brighter colors and sharper elements.
The phone also has Kodak’s Easy Share software that lets users to access Kodak gallery and other web-sharing sites.
The users can easily systematize, edit, store, share, find mobile pictures and also upload photos to a PC through USB, built-in Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. Moreover, the pics can also be printed out wirelessly on select Bluetooth-enabled Kodak printers.
John Blake, a Kodak veep, said, “We have worked closely with Motorola to create a device that not only delivers Kodak-quality pictures, but allows consumers to explore a wide range of options for sharing their photos with friends and family around the world.”
The camera phone has several capture modes that comprise a panorama mode, which permits users to shoot nonstop shots automatically into a single extended image.
Other astounding features of the phone include a 2.4-inch screen, Motorola's ''ModeShift'' technology for switching the keypad depending on device mode, and a quad-band GSM radio with EDGE.
According to Motorola, the Motozine ZN5 will be available in China by the coming Month (July 2008) and is expected to hit the global market throughout the remainder of the year.
