More Speed, More Features in new Google Chrome Beta

More Speed, More Features in new Google Chrome Beta Google is increasing the speed of the latest beta version of its Web browser and is also improving its popular features.

The latest beta version of its Chrome Web browser makes the internet surfing faster by 30 percent. It conducted tests against the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks before making these claims.

Better speeds in surfing have been achieved by making the Web browser more intelligent with regard to the handling of the requests for new pages. The browser prioritizes the information to be retrieved first during the opening of the multiple pages. For example, when the user opens a second Web page while a first page is being loaded, Chrome will bring the text, images and video for the new page prior to the requests being processed for the first page.

Changes have been made to the tab pages. Presently, the most visited Web sites appear sequentially from left to right and top to bottom depending upon the browsing history.

In the new version of Chrome beta, the Web pages that appear on the tab page can be recorded or hidden on loading of the browser. Pages can also be displayed prominently by dragging these to the predominate position. Website can also be "pined" to prevent it from falling off the page.

The Omnibox address bar is also updated. New icons in the Omnibox distinguish between the suggested links, searches, bookmarks and sites from a user browsing history.

Work is also going on to enhance theme customization. A beginning has also been made with HTML 5, to provide basic video tagging.
