Quito - At least 13 people were killed and 30 injured in a fire at a night club in a southern quarter of Ecuador's capital Saturday, police said.

The number of casualties could rise as authorities had not yet finished working through the debris. There were at least 200 people in the disco at the time of the fire.

There was no immediate information on the condition of the injured, who were transported to local hospitals. (dpa)
