MahindraAfter buying a handful of companies already in the Indian and global market, M&M perhaps hasn't had full share of its appetite yet. It has been quoted by a couple of media agencies that the company is now eyeing a majority stake in the Indian business of Michigan, US-based Vayugrid.

While the target company could not be reached for a comment, but it is to be mentioned here that the Vayugrid's core area of business is contract farming, it also has a presence in alternative energy. However, Sanjeev Goyle, senior vice-president (marketing), farm equipment sector, M&M confirmed the development by saying that the conglomerate is very much interested in buying Vayugrid's India operations and it will be a big boost for the Farm Equipment sector of the company.

Moreover, Goyle also pointed out the fact that the deal will help the company to lease our farm equipment to the customer base of Vayugrid. The company has so far bagged Reva, the electric carmaker and the South Korean Ssangyong Motors this year. While the inorganic growth story is yet to unfold completely but keeping in mind the high cash reserves of the company, it is in line as of now.
