Miliband calls on Gilani, Sharif

David MilibandIslamabad, Jan. 16 : British Foreign Secretary David Miliband called on Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here on Friday.

According to a Geo News report, he also met Pakistan Muslim League (N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif here at the Punjab House.

His visit to the Pakistan capital comes a day after his completion of a two-day visit to India, where he said there is need for the Pakistani authorities to showcase urgency in taking action against those responsible for the Mumbai terror attacks.

Speaking during a talk on ''''After Mumbai, Beyond the War on Terror'''' in Mumbai, Miliband said: "Pakistani authorities need to detain people and take further action like prosecution and action against them if found guilty. We need to hold the Pakistani government to their promise that people caught should put through their judicial system and then punished."

Miliband said that terrorist organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) needs to be tackled at the root and policy needs to be changed to do so. He added to it by saying that he would discuss this during his upcoming visit to Islamabad. (ANI)
