Microsoft's 'father of Kinect' working on wearable Windows

Microsoft's 'father of Kinect' working on wearable WindowsWashington, Dec 20 : Microsoft's 'father of Kinect' is reportedly working on wearable Windows devices, similar to what Google is soon to launch with its wearable computing gadget, Glass.

General manager of Xbox incubation projects, Alex Kipman, is heading up the company's plans for wearable computers and customizing Windows to run on even smaller screens.

According to The Verge, Kipman's team is focused on testing and customizing Windows on prototypes for wearable computers like glasses and smartwatches.

The software maker is speculated to be testing a smartwatch with a 1.5-inch display and Surface connector, apart from also working on a Google Glass like smart eyewear.

It was rumoured last year that the company was working on Kinect Glasses to test whether Microsoft could bring them out of an incubation phase and into a real product, which would be connected with Wi-Fi or 4G and augmented reality support.

The company's head of devices, Julie Larson-Green has also recently hinted at a wearable future for the company, as she said that sensors are going to become a big part of how people think about things.(ANI)
