Microsoft Xbox Prices may remain firm despite lower sales

Japan: The prices of Microsoft Xbox 360 may remain the same in Japan. Microsoft’s subsidiary in Japan has ruled out any price cuts for the video game consoles in near future. The sales of Xbox have been lower, but the company expects things to change with upcoming launch of Halo 3 this month.

Takashi Sensui, Chief of the home and entertainment division at Microsoft informed that the prices may remain firm in near future despite low response in Japanese markets.

Microsoft had reduced the price of Xbox console in the United States in the month of August to compete with Sony and Nintendo.

The price for Premium Xbox 360 is marked at $240 while the Elite version is being sold at $390 in Japan.

As per the report of NPD Group, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console has seen a tremendous response in the United States. Xbox sales were much higher compared to PlayStation 3 from Sony by nearly double the numbers in US markets.

Nintendo managed to stay at number 1 position but Microsoft sales are smartly picking up. With the upcoming release of Halo 3 in month of September, Microsoft sales may increase in coming days.
