Mumbai: Microsoft and Sony, the two gaming giants, are now desperate to hit the unexplored Indian gaming market.
The Software giant, Microsoft declared the date for launching its Xbox Live in the Indian market, whereas Sony has brought out an Indian edition of its trendy PlayStation 2 title 'Singstar'
The companies made these declarations on the same day, which is a proof that both are on the same track of tapping Indian market.
Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division has declared in New Delhi that Xbox Live would hit the Indian market on November 5, whilst Tim Stokes, director of sales and marketing PlayStation, India, brought out 'Singstar Bollywood' in Mumbai.
Atindrya Bose, PlayStation country manager said that Sony had acknowledged the prospective of the Indian gaming market.
He said, “We are ensuring that our products are accessible and relevant to India," he said. Social gaming has become the new mantra for Sony. "Singstar Bollywood combines all these elements.”
Whereas Sony’s concentration on making the gaming market more localised, Microsoft has really place the Indian gaming industry on the world sight.
“With the Xbox Live, we are connecting our Indian consumers to a world of 7 million Xbox Live members around the world,” Robbie Bach said.
“It will enable people to experience a broad spectrum of entertainment content and personalise and share it with their friends and social communities,” Bach added.
