Micra takes Nissan on new skies

MicraThere is no denying of the fact that Nissan as a brand was hardly familiar with the Indian consumer just a few months before it officially launched the hatchback Micra in the Indian market.

Not only the company let the consumers drive the product even before the official launch but its campaign with Ranbir Kapoor has perhaps done the trick. And the same is clearly shown by the sales figures released by the company as it has registered total sales of 1249 units for the month of August 2010.

Without any surprise, close to 1,150 units were of the Micra alone in the unit sales achieved by the company in the last month.

It is to be mentioned here that the company also has a very progressively growing order book for the Micra; it has so far got 3,600 units on its books which are still to be delivered to the Indian consumer.

While it has come as a surprise to many; the top-end variant of the product is catching the fancy of the Indian consumer and the company had to even realign its production in order to meet the high demand.
