Miandad may be offered “more powers” to take back resignation

Miandad may be offered “more powers” to take back resignationDubai, Jan. 29 : The resignation of the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) Director General Javed Miandad has still not been accepted by the PCB, the board's Human Resources (HR) chief Wasim Bari said.

According to The Nation, PCB chairman Ijaz Butt is expected to urge Miandad to continue on the post.

"PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, who is in Perth to attend the ICC meeting, is likely to speak to Miandad before deciding taking any decision over the resignation," Bari said.

Butt may try to pacify Miandad by offering more power to his job description to avoid the crisis, the paper said.

Earlier, Miandad had challenged the capability of the present top officials of the PCB, saying : "If you want results from me then you have to give me enough powers. I''ve given more than 40 years of my life to cricket. Nobody in the Board knows more about cricket than me." (ANI)
