Megan Fox to replace Angelina Jolie in new Tomb Raider movie?
Melbourne, June 1 : Megan Fox is being considered to play a young Lara Croft in a new Tomb Raider movie.
Angelina Jolie starred in the first two Tomb Raider films in 2001 and 2003, but movie bosses will replace the 33-year-old with a younger star for the next installment.
Executive producer Dan Lin is planning an `origin' story of the popular action franchise based on the computer game of the same name, and said it would be `no brainer' to consider Fox for the daredevil archaeologist role.
Unlike previous movies, Lin has promised to focus more on characters and plot than spectacular stunts.
"It's great origin story that we''re going to tell. A very character-oriented story which I would say is more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies," Herald Sun quoted Lin as telling film website about. com.
"It is an origin story so it is a younger Lara Croft. It will have character-driven action. I think for me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action-oriented. I wanted to have action, but with character," Lin added.
The Transformers star was first linked to the project in January.
A source said at the time: "Megan is definitely a strong candidate for the part."
If Fox lands the role, she could be set to flash more flesh than her predecessor. (ANI)
