McLaren to launch a low priced model in 2014
McLaren chief executive, Ron Dennis ha said that the company will release a lower-priced model in 2014. He also said that the company is also planning to produce a limited number of units of a higher-priced car to showcase the company's technological capabilities. Mr Dennis pointed out that the company has received a nearly
1,900 orders for the MP4-12C supercar, which was recently launched with a starting price of £168,500.
He added that the company is on the way to achieving its aim to convert all its debt to equity. The british car maker has already raised "in excess of 60 per cent" of the £260m it was seeking from investors.
After the company finished the coversion of debt into equity, the shareholders, Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund, Luxembourg-based Tag Group, and Mr Dennis will hold 53 per cent of the company and the new shareholders will hold 47 per cent.
