McDonald's trying to sell 10 million pounds of Mighty WingsFast food giant, McDonald's is aiming to sell 10 million pounds of Mighty Wings that are in cold storage as there are no takers in the market.

The chain prepared to release the wings as a limited-time offer this summer and had ordered 50 million pounds that were to be distributed to stores throughout the country. The limited release has concluded and the store is left with 20 percent of their original order in storage and many are describing it as one of the biggest disasters for the company.

Experts have said that the reason behind the failure of the Mighty Wings was that they were priced expensively at about $1 a piece, most people did not associate the chain with wings and they were too spicy for some. According to a new report by the Wall Street Journal, the fast food giant is aiming to sell three wings for $2.99.

The world's biggest fast-food chain had announced new "Mighty Wings" for a limited time from 9 September and nationwide from 29 September, 2013. The new bone-in wings, breaded and seasoned with cayenne and chili pepper will be sold at the company's outlets till November. The company is now stuck with 10 million pounds of unsold chicken wings.
