Maruti Suzuki to look at capacity expansion

Maruti Suzuki to look at capacity expansionThe market leader in the Indian passenger car segment, Maruti Suzuki has recently said that the company may look at the option of capacity expansion as it is currently not able to meet the high demand of the Indian consumer. It is to be mentioned here that the company said it is doing an initial study to build a new manufacturing plant at the moment and will be in a better position to comment on the same as soon as it completes it.

Maruti Chairman R. C. Bhargava said that it will be coming up in the same land in the Manesar plant but will be a complete new unit capable of producing close to 2.5 lakh units.

It is believed that the parent company back in Japan, Suzuki Motor Corporation will invest close to 17 billion rupees ($363 million) for the same project in the Indian subsidiary.

There is no denying to the fact that Maruti Suzuki is currently dealing with a capacity constraint issue and the company has been struggling to meet the high demand of the Indian consumer.
