Maruti Suzuki India Ltd to Launch New Model of Swift Next Year
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd announces to launch a transformed form of its Swift car with a better mileage, with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel variants. The company claimed that the new Swift will be better than the present model of Swift.
The new model will be spacious, lighter in weight by replacing the metal fuel tank with a plastic tank and most importantly, the car will be fuel-efficient. The engineers claimed that the fuel-efficiency was going to improve by 13%. The price details about the car were not declared by the Company.
The new Swift was being manufactured at the Manesar unit of the Company in Haryana. The Company had commenced a deal with France’s Plastic Omnium, the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic fuel tanks. As per the industry expert, plastic fuel tanks are usually 25-35 % lighter than the conventional metal tanks. Besides, these are corrosion-free, durable, non-explosive and easily recyclable.
The petrol version is believed to give a mileage of around 20 kmpl as compared to the existing mileage of 17.9 kmpl. Similarly, the diesel variant will give a mileage of around 23.8 kmpl as compared to the existing mileage of 21 kmpl.
