Maruti to expand itself in India looking at the demand

Maruti-SuzukiIndia's largest car maker in terms of volumes, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is looking to expand production in the country. This will be close to 46 per cent and is being done since the car maker is failing to meet the demand not only in India but also Asia.

Maruti, as of today is able to manufacture 1.75 million vehicles annually after it came up with many new factories. And now, it wants to add another 1.2 million vehicles a year.

The company has planned to spend 35 billion yen for expanding its biggest factory which is in Mansear. This growth is the result of the good economic performance of the country which as seen its industry wide capacity getting double by 2015.

On the same lines are Ford and Volkswagen AG who are also planning to build new plants and come up with new models in India. These two car makers are the biggest rival of Maruti as of now which holds 50 per cent of the market share.

Now, expanding is the only way out for Maruti if it wants to hold on to the customers.
