Malaysian pilots badly hurt as aircraft crashes near house

Kuala Lumpur  - Two pilots were seriously injured when the privarte light aircraft they were flying crashed into the compound of a home on Thursday in Malaysia's northern Perak state.

The two-seater Eagle 150B training aircraft narrowly missed the walls of the home when it crashed in the noon incident, the official Bernama news agency reported.

Trainee pilot Ahmad Tarmezee Ahmad Lotpi, 23, and flight instructor Mohamad Faizal Kamaruddin, 37, suffered serious injuries and were admitted to a local hospital.

The home owner Indran Sagaran said his two children and their aunty were in the home at the time of the accident, the report said.

Police said they have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. (dpa)
