Mahindra Tractors files a 39% rise in domestic demand

Mahindra-TractorsAn integral part of the conglomerate, the $6.3 billion Mahindra Group, Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has once again been able to successfully retain its leadership position in the Indian market.

It may be noted here that the company sold 15699 units in the month of April witnessing a decent growth as compared to 11282 nos. for the same period last year. Notably, the rise in domestic demand comes out to be close to around 39% in the month of April 2010.

Meanwhile, the company has been on a roll as far as the exports were concerned that saw a rise of 69% in the month of April as it sold a whopping 605 nos., as against 359 nos. for the same period last year. In fact, the total sales come out to be close to 16304 nos., as compared to 11641 nos. for the same period last year, an increase of 40%.

Tractors have been the bread and butter for M&M in the Indian market for many years before the company decided to spread its wings beyond the automotive arena.
