Mahindra’s Bolero stays as the #1 SUV
The market leader in the UV segment, Mahindra & Mahindra has once again shown that it has what it takes to stay at the top of the segment. Its best-selling Mahindra Bolero has been able to retain its #1 position in the Indian market by selling a record 70,554 units in 2009-10.
Bolero has been the backbone of the company in this segment along with offerings like Scorpio and Xylo. Vivek Nayer, Senior Vice President - Marketing, Auto Division, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd said that the company is happy to see Bolero at the top of the UV segment.
Nayer also mentioned the fact that Bolero is the most-selling product in the Indian market excluding small cars and the product also was the winner of the Total Customer Satisfaction survey in the SUV/MUV category, conducted by TNS Automotive in 2009. Launched in the year 2000, Bolero has been able to hit the sweet spot of the Indian consumer by its tough and rugged looks.
Moreover, a large chunk of Bolero's sales comes out of the rural areas and the company believes the equation to remain the same even in the coming times.
