Mahindra Reva exploring new markets for its EVs
Mahindra Reva Pvt. Ltd. is looking to explore newer geographies having EV-friendly policies and reap big opportunities available there for its electric vehicles.
Mahindra Reva is already selling its electric vehicles in as many as twenty-four countries and is looking at newer opportunities abroad as the popularity of electric vehicles is growing globally.
Anand Mahindra, chairman & managing director of Mahindra Group, said, "There is a big market for electric vehicles abroad and we are looking at these opportunities."
Mr. Anand was speaking at the inauguration of Reva's manufacturing facility near Bangalore in India. With the new manufacturing facility, which has been erected with an investment of Rs 100 crore, the company has reached a capacity of manufacturing 30,000 units per year.
London has, so far, been the biggest market for Mahindra Reva, where the company has more than 1,000 electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, Mahindra Reva is preparing launch its `NXR electric car' by or around the festival of Diwali. It showcased the concept of the upcoming four-seater electric car at the auto expo.
After launching in India, the manufacturer will take to other countries of the world by the middle of the next year. Overseas, the new electric vehicle will first reach the Scandinavian countries.
