Mahindra aims at the world SUV market

Mahindra-SUVAfter proving its mettle in the Indian market, the UV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has now decided to aim for the global SUV market to chart a new success story for the company.

While the company has recently announced that it will be acquiring South Korean SUV-maker Ssangyong Motor Company (SYMC) but it is just a coincidence that this milestone also comes in the same month in which Mahindra launched its much-popular Bolero (August 2000). Mahindra & Mahindra's Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Anand Mahindra, said that the acquisition of Ssangyong comes as a tremendous opportunity for Mahindra & Mahindra to reach the level of a global player in the UV segment.

While M&M's Chief Executive, International Operations (Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors), Pravin Shah said that the Bolero continues to touch new skies in the Indian market, he rightfully mentioned that the goal of the company is now to become a global player in the SUV segment.

Carrying products like Rexton, Kyron and Actyon and sedan Chairman in its portfolio, Ssangyong is surely a very good buy for Mahindra as it gives the Indian conglomerate a fair chance to position itself on the global charts.
