Madhucon Projects picks order worth Rs 989 crore; stock up 6%
Hyderabad-based Madhucon Projects, an infrastructure development firm, has secured an order worth Rs 989.50 crore for setting up a thermal power plant in Krishnapatnam South, Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh. The plant is of 2x135 MW capacity and the project is expected to be completed in 26 months.

Madhucon Projects limited operates as an engineering construction company in India. The company engages in the execution of expressways and national highways, irrigation and water supply, sewage treatment, engineering, and property development projects.

In a separate release, the company has informed that its property division has taken up a commercial venture at a cost of Rs 900 crore.

Recently, Madhucon's energy division has also entered into a memorandum of understanding with Jharkhand State Government for setting up a 1,000 MW thermal power plant at a total cost of Rs 4,800 crore.

Shares of the company gained Rs 18, or 6%, to settle at Rs 309. The total volume of shares traded was 42,177 at the BSE. (Monday)
