LulzSec now targets U.S. Senate
Hacker group LulzSec has now targeted the U. S. Senate and has already released internal data from the chamber's database.
LulzSec said in a statement that, "We don't like the US government very much. Their boats are weak, their lulz are low, and their sites aren't very secure."
The statement also said, "In an attempt to help them fix their issues, we've decided to donate additional lulz in the form of owning them some more!" The group described the data as a "small, just-for-kicks release".
The group pointed out that it did not release anything top secret and only published information on the filesystems, user logins and the Apache web server config files.
Sophos analyst Chester Wisniewski said that this hack attracts a punishment of five to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
