L&T Receives Rs 12.45 Bn Order From Bhutan; Stock Surges
Larsen & Toubro, the country’s largest manufacturer of equipment for the nuclear power sector, has announced that it has received an order from Bhutan.
The project to be executed by L&T’s construction division is for the construction of the Dam Package, which is a part of the 1,200 MW Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric Project Authority in Bhutan.
The project is being set up by the Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric Project Authority that has been constituted through a contract between the Indian Government and the Royal Government of Bhutan.
It is located across Punatsangchhu river, about 80 km from Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan.
The scope of the contract, which is valued at Rs 12.45 billion, includes construction of the diversion tunnel, dam, intake and desilting arrangement including hydro-mechanical works.
The project will be executed in 66 months.
L&T received the order through a competitive bidding process. The engineering and design consultant of the deal is WAPCOS.
At 11:19 a.m., the company’s stock gained 0.38% at Rs 675.20 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The total volume of shares traded was 268,919. The share price has seen a 52-week high of Rs 1,631 and a low of Rs 557 on BSE.
Current EPS & P/E ratio stood at 58.94 and 11.46 respectively. The share price hit an intraday high of Rs 684 and an intraday low of Rs 663 on BSE.
