L&T bags Rs 1, 450 crore order from NHAI

LarsenToubroEngineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has informed that it has received an Rs 1, 450-crore order from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a road project.

The project will be at the state of Tamil Nadu. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has incorporated an SPV named L&T Krishnagiri Walajahpet Tollway Private Limited. This SPV has signed a concession agreement with the NHAI. This firm will to widen the existing four lanes to six lanes.

The highways come under golden quadrilateral (GQ) as a part of Phase-V of the national highways development program (NHDP) and NHAI program.

The Krishnagiri-Walajahpet Highway of NH 46 has four lane now. The company has got the order to make 148.30km of the road to six lane. It will be executed on a BOT DBFO (design, build, finance and operate) basis. The concession period of the project is 30 years. The company has scheduled that the project will need 30 months at least to be completed. L&T has also informed that it would collect toll from the users of the highway during the concession period as well as in the construction period.
