Little Edie Beale gives Drew Barrymore skin issues

Little Edie Beale gives Drew Barrymore skin issuesLondon, April 14 : Drew Barrymore had a bad skin condition to take back home from the sets of her forthcoming movie `Grey Garden' after developing an allergy to the makeup for her role.

The actress revealed she had to deal with a peeling and sore skin after playing the role of ex U. S. First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis' cousin, a poverty-stricken woman living in a sprawling, rundown New York mansion.

The 34-year-old said preparing to look like old Little Edie Beale was nothing less than a taxing task before and even after the filming.

"Depending on the scenes we were shooting, I''d have to sit in that makeup chair four to six hours every single day," the Daily Express quoted her as telling New York Post.

"Just ageing the face and hands took four hours. Then, taking it off, was another hour and a half...

"My face suffered as a result. We ended up with skin issues I''d never had before because I developed an allergy to chemicals in isopropyl, the alcohol used in removing cosmetics.

"A constancy of prosthetics also created a sensitivity to adhesives, and our makeup people had to find alternatives," she added. (ANI)
