Land Rover Defender to feature new diesel engine
Land Rover's longest-serving model, Defender is set for a revival with a new 2.2-litre diesel engine, which will improve the models efficiency and performance.
The new engine, which replaces the old 2.4-litre unit, produces the same 120bhp and 360Nm of torque and also has the same CO2 emission of 266g/km, it emits lower levels of toxic gases such as NOx, CO and HC. The new engine has also raised the top speed from 82mph to 90mph.
The model’s refinement has also been boosted with a full acoustic cover for the engine. The company is also offering two new optional packs to the buyers. The Comfort Pack beings -conditioning, CD player, Electric windows and remote central locking for £1,650, while the Off-Road Pack throws in ABS, off-road tyres, a tow bar and underbody protection for an extra £1,500.
The refreshed model will go on sale in November with a starting price of £20,995.
