KSInC joins Google to launch Innovation Karnataka projectThe Karnataka State Innovation Council (KSInC) has joined global online giant, Google to launch the new Innovation Karnataka project to nurture and develop internet-driven innovations in the southern Indian state.

A total of 4 innovators from Karnataka including Kanaja, Sakala, mDhil and RedBus were awarded the innovator awards. Professor H. P. Khincha, the Chairman of KSInC said that the state has been a leader in innovation and has helped India emerge as the global leader in technology and software. He added that the state must strive to stay ahead and consolidate its position in innovation in the difficult economic times.

“With this initiative and support from Google, we want to amplify the impact of Internet-driven innovation as more and more Indians come online,” said Professor Khincha.

The Innovation Karnataka report has identified a series of opportunities for boosting innovation and is also recognising the leaders for inspiration to others in the state. The state requires a productive and nurturing laws and regulations that support innovation and prepare companies for global competition and new challenges and opportunities.

Lalitesh Katragadda, country head for products at Google said that the initiative will help in company’s aim to help the over one billion people of India to connect to the internet.
