Kinetic Motor launches “Flyte”, 125-cc scooterette throughout the country

Two-wheeler maker, Kinetic Motor Company has finally launched its 125-cc scooterette, Kinetic Flyte throughout the country. The company had launched “Flyte” in selected North Indian markets two months ago. It has already sold around 5,000 units of the new scoorerette.

The 125cc Flyte is priced at Rs 36,837 and is available in five colors. The company claims a 45 to 50 km per litre mileage for the scooter.

Kinetic Flyte, includes advance features like central locking, anti-theft magnetic key, mobile phone charging, crash resistant mirrors.

The scooter has developed in collaboration with Sanyang Motor (SYM), a Taiwan-based $1.1 billion automotive group.

Ms Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Managing Director, Kinetic Motor Company, said, “Our primary target is young women including students, professionals and the newly married while, the secondary target is older women and boys.”

The Gearless scooter segment has grown by 30 % in the last one year and is slated to increase for 10 years. The urban rides market will be dominated by gearless scooters. The company aims to increase the monthly sales of Flyte to 8,000 by July end.

During launching ceremony, the company also unveiled a TV commercial and year 2008 calendar, featuring its brand ambassador, Bipasha Basu and the Kinetic Flyte.

Kinetic Motor, which has had success with some previous products like Luna and Kinetic Honda, desperately needs a bestseller. In the 6 million plus two-wheeler market, Kinetic Motors is expected to sell around 80,000 units this fiscal.
