JSW Steel production up 60% in April

JSW Steel production up 60% in AprilSajjan Jindal-led JSW Steel has announced that it has recorded a phenomenal growth of 60% in its steel production, which stood at 4.56 lakh tonnes in April.  

In the corresponding month of the last year, company's crude steel production stood at 2.84 lakh tonnes.

The sources close to company said that the growth in output is attributed to additional steel produced at company’s recently started 2.8 million tonne per annum furnace located at Vijaynagar.  
 
In the segment of flat-rolled products, JSW Steel's output surged by 18% to 2.69 lakh tonnes.       
 
Similarly, in long-rolled items, the output went up by an impressive 78 per cent to 0.61 lakh tonnes.
 
As part of its brownfield expansion, the steel major has increased the capacity of its Vijaynagar plant to 6.8 million tonnes and intends to further enhance it to nearly 10 million tonnes by the end of coming fiscal.
