JSW Steel posts 54% growth in quarterly crude steel production in Q2 FY 2010JSW Steel, leading India based steelmaker, has informed that it has registered a handsome growth of 54% in crude steel production during Q2 Financial Year 2010.

As per official sources, the company has also clocked quarterly successive growth of 12% in crude steel production, 6% in rolled flat products as well as 20% in rolled long products.

During the half fiscal ended Sep 30,2009, Company's crude steel production figure stood at 291.6 million tones showing a decent rise of 48% over similar period of last year.

As per reports in media, earlier this fiscal, JSW Steel had increased the capacity of its Vijaynagar plant installed in Karnataka to 6.8 million tonnes and is hopeful of achieving a jump between 70-72 % in output in 2009-10.

Shares of the company gained Rs 32.65, or 3.91%, to settle at Rs 868.65. The total volume of shares traded was 1,085,579 at the BSE (Tuesday).
