Iranian official issues new warning to Israel, US

Iran, US, IsraelTehran - An Iranian official Saturday issued a fresh warning to Israel and the United States not to attack it, Fars news agency reported.

Mojtaba Zoalnor, deputy spiritual leader of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guards, told Fars that if Iran was attacked, the country would "destroy" both Israel and 32 US bases in the Gulf and Middle East.

The official - described by observers as not particularly prominent - added that both Israel and US bases were within the range of the long-range Shahab-3 missile.

Iranian officials have in the recent days played down the recent missile tests in Iran by the Revolutionary Guards, saying Iran did not pose any threat had no intention of violating any country - but was just decisive in defending itself. (dpa)
