Indian Visions Film Festival in Washington DC

Indian Visions Film Festival in Washington DC Bollywood film buffs in Washington DC can look forward to a rocking time ahead, with the Indian Visions film festival, from November 13 to November 16.

The festival will open with director Abhishek Kapoor's recent box office success 'Rock On', starring Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Prachi Desai. Kapoor will be attending the opening night to present his film and to interact with the audience.

Amanda Sodhi, programme coordinator of Indian Visions, said: "I'm sure DC film enthusiasts will enjoy viewing 'Rock On' at the Indian Visions Film Festival. And, the fact that Abhishek is attending will bring that extra bit of magic to our festival."

Other feature films that will be screened at the Festival include the following - Shyam Benegal's 'Welcome to Sajjanpur'; Adoor Gopalakrishnan's 'Naalu Pennungal/Four Women'; Franz Osten's 'Prapancha Pash/A Throw of Dice'; Neeraj Pandey's 'A Wednesday'; Umesh Kulkarni's 'Valu: The Wild Bull'; Nishikant Kamat's 'Mumbai Meri Jaan'; and Ashish Avikunthak's 'Nirakar Chhaya/Shadows Formless'.

Apart from these films, documentaries and short films will also be showcased at the Festival.

According to Sukumar Srinivasan, the executive director of Indian Visions, "Our festival will present several DC premiere films. Designed to educate, entertain and provoke, the programming includes a rich array of feature films and short films in English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam and Marathi, running the gamut from narratives to documentaries and representing different regions and genres."
