Indian Stock Market Ends Lower; INR at All Time Low Vs USD
Indian stock markets ended the day in negative zone with BSE Sensex at 16479 (down by 66 points) and NSE Nifty at 4974 (down by 25 points). The markets opened lower on Wednesday, however there was recovery around 10.30 am and markets showed some strength. By the end of the trading session, the markets went down as European markets opened lower.
GOLD was down in Indian market at Rs 28500 per 10 grams. Silver was down by nearly 1.4% at 54,350. Brent Crude was marginally down at $112 per barrel.
Asian Markets closed lower with Hang Seng down by 0.76%. Nikkei 225 was down by 1.5% at 9045. Straits Times was down by over one per cent. The sentiment in Asian and European markets was negative after the 76 points fall at Dow Jones on Tuesday.
The recent efforts of RBI to curb the fall in INR proved futile after the USD climed against Indian currency on Wednesday. USD - INR was trading at 53.71 touching an intraday high of 53.80.
