India slams Pakistan for its ''flip-flop'' on Kasab''s nationality
Chennai, Jan 8 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today slammed Pakistan for its "flip-flop" on Kasab''s nationality.
"Kasab has told us quite categorically where he comes from, where he received military and arms training and where his handlers are located. Unfortunately, despite this, we have seen a consistent flip-flop in the reaction of the government in Islamabad," Mukherjee said at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Chennai.
Speaking on the Mumbai attacks, he said the attacks in Mumbai brought about a huge international reaction, both anger at what happened in terms of the external hand and sorrow at the number of persons who were killed."
"Even after one month of the operation, there continues to be recalcitrance in bringing the perpetrators to justice," he added.
After a prolonged delay in accepting that Kasab belonged to its soil, Pakistan finally accepted that Kasab was its national.
"Ajmal Kasab is a Pakistani. Further investigations are under way," Pakistan Information Minister Sherry Rehman said yesterday.
The acceptance from Pakistan comes after India provided a ''dossier'' of evidence to prove that the perpetrators of the Mumbai carnage had links to Pakistan.
Terming Mumbai attack as "unique", he said, "Let us not forget terrorism knows no borders. All of us are vulnerable to terrorist attacks."
Calling upon the overseas Indians to take up the concerns of India on terror, he said as ambassadors abroad, their words will be heard in multiple corners of the world.
The Minister also asserted that such strikes will not "shake our resolve" of inclusive growth as India can manage multiple challenges at the same point of time. (ANI)
