IAG finally finds luck
It is generally believed that the insurers never find good luck in their profession. But there are times that the statement does not hold true like this one. Suncorp and IAG have finally produced better results after better management and better luck assisted them. For last few years they were having bad luck with their results, despite doing most things right. This year's numbers were highly encouraging and were a lot better than the previous year's numbers.
The company posted an unbelievable top line of 329 million dollar profit, and the luck favored them as there were a lower number of natural disasters and the movements in credit spreads also favored them.
IAG's margin almost jumped to double the value it was last year to 13.4 percent than 6.2 percent. The better margins can be directly attributed to the better management.
Among the factors that helped them except the management were better premiums, lower costs and improvements in underwriting and claims management. There has been a growth of margin and expense ratios in both the companies and with favorable times waiting the companies are expected to have a good time later in the year as well.
