HP’s ‘Compaq dc7800’ To Hit Indian Markets By Next Month

Hewlett Packard (HP) has rolled out an ultra-slim desktop PC, named HP's dc7800 Ultra-slim Desktop PC‘Compaq dc7800’ in the Indian market.

Targeting business experts, the newly launched energy-efficient business desktop PC comes with 8USB ports. Compared to standard models, the Compaq dc7800 consumes nearly 15% less energy and offers dual display ports or supporting multiple monitors

The company claims the ultra-thin ‘Compaq dc7800’ as the industry’s first machine (PC) to feature a solid-state hard drive (SSD) which is considered more dependable as compared to SATA and SCSI drives. The SSD format hard drive raises the overall performance level and also guarantees better durability.

Arun Rao, country manager, business desktop PCs, personal systems group, HP India said, “HP’s ongoing efforts to design for the environment have spanned decades.”

“HP leverages this expertise to continually develop smart ideas for its PC product lines that not only help business customers be more productive, but also reduce operating costs and their effect on the environment,” Mr. Rao added.

The HP Compaq dc7800 adds to HP’s Gold-listed products in the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) registry. The registry assists businesses to appraise, evaluate and choose technology products based on their environmental traits including meeting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s latest ENERGY STAR energy-efficiency requirements.

Powered by 80 Plus power supply, the added benefits of the Compaq dc7800 PC include a faster system start, better reliability, superior power efficiency, shock improvement and a smaller overall footprint.

Priced at Rs 40,000, the HP Compaq dc7800 Ultra-slim Business Desktop PC is scheduled to hit market on 1st May 2008.
