Hong Kong stock edge up slightly in early trading Monday
Hong Kong - Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index edged up fractionally in early trading Monday after crashing to a four-year low at the end of last week.
The blue-chip index moved up 22.21 points, or 0.18 per cent, to 12,640.59 points in the first 10 minutes of trading Monday morning, despite predictions that the market would open with further losses.
Hong Kong stocks have been among the hardest hit by the recent global economic turmoil, sinking 8.3 per cent on Friday and shedding 30 per cent of its value since the beginning of October. (dpa)
