Honda to recall 11,000 units of the CBR-250R in IndiaJapanese automotive giant, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced a recall of about 11,000 units of the CBR-250R motorcycle in India because of a faulty brake system.

The company is recalling the units that were produced between March 2011 and September 2012. The recall is the first volunteer recall by a two wheeler maker in the country. The 250 cc premium motorcycle- CBR 250R standard variant will be recalled from across the country.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said in a statement that, "There is a possibility of limited effectiveness in front brake application, though this concern doesn't impact the overall braking functionality and effectiveness of front and rear brakes under normal riding conditions."

The company also said that the voluntary market action will take less than one hour and will be conducted at Honda exclusive authorized dealers across the country. Honda is offering to rectify the problem without any cost to the customers.

This will be the company's second recall in two months. Honda had to recall 268,000 CR-V sport utility vehicles in the US due to risk of power window switches catching fire if water penetrated into the car.
