Homepage and News Feeds Revamped by Facebook
One of the top ranked social networking websites, Facebook has given its homepage and news feed features a makeover. While a 'summary view' on the user's homepage now shows the "most interesting" activities that have happened over the past 24 hours, a "real-time" live stream makes available instant access to updates as they happen.
Talking about the revamp, Facebook developer Raylene Yung said, "While seeing real-time activities is extremely valuable, we also want to be sure you don't miss other interesting content. After hearing feedback from many of you and exploring some new designs, we decided with today's changes to move what you used to see in Highlights from the right-hand side to the News Feed view in the main column so you can more easily engage with both views".
The development has come as another proof of the fact that the social networking portal takes user feedbacks very seriously. The site is known for its regular revamps, which, at times, disappoint but at most other delight, users. "Like you, we know it can be disruptive when things are moved around, but we hope that these changes make Facebook a more valuable experience for you", said Yung.
So far, the changes have received mixed responses, but the developers are positive that this has been one of Facebook's best revamps.
