Hino Motors to market buses, trucks in India

Tokyo - Japanese automaker Hino Motors Ltd and major trading company Marubeni Corp announced a joint venture Tuesday to sell vehicles in India.

The two companies established Hino Motors Sales India Private Ltd with capital of 490 million yen (4.53 million dollars) to meet the growing demand for trucks and buses in India, Hino Motors said.

Hino Motors owns 65 per cent of the firm based in Mumbai, with Marubeni holding the remainder.

The joint venture plans to begin selling the mainline Hino 500 series as early as mid-2009, the automaker said. (dpa)
