Hero Honda posts a marginal growth   The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda has recently said that the company has been able to manage a 2.2% jump in the unit sales for the month of August 2010.

While one may call it one a high base effect but the fact of the matter is that the company sold 4,24,617 units in August 2010 and as compared to the 4,15,137 units sold by Hero Honda in the corresponding month last year, the company has been losing bits out of its total market share to players like Bajaj Auto.

Bajaj on the other end has filed a rise of over 50% in its August sales. It is to be mentioned here that the company has recently launched a new version of the best-selling Splendor in the Indian market and must be expecting to get high numbers from the same.

However, while the total sales posted by the company may not satisfactory at the outset, it is for the 4th consecutive time that the company has recorded more than four lakh dispatch sales in a single month.

Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said that the four lakh plus mark has set the tone for the company for the upcoming festive season and it expects the company to maintain the growth momentum.
