Having flu shot during pregnancy is not unsafe

Having flu shot during pregnancy is not unsafe A study done by the government has shown that having flu shots during pregnancy is safe and there are no unwanted side-effects to it. The study which was done using data collected from pregnant women showed that there was no complication found when such women were studied in last 20 years.

Between 1990 and 2009, there were just 175 reports that showed possibly vaccine-related medical complications among pregnant women. These reports are present with the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). It shows that only 12.5 cases per million are reported that show such complications happen.

Also most of these cases have been said to be 'non-serious' and a miniscule number only suggests miscarriage and stillbirths.

The vaccine-safety surveillance system was run by VAERS so that fears that suggest that health problems that suggest that health problems happen because of vaccination. In the end, VAERS said that it is not necessary that health problems as reported have been caused by vaccination.

In the group that studied the women included American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Nasal-spray and flu vaccine are also in the part.
