Hasselbeck Feels Barack Obama’s Victory is America’s Victory

Elisabeth-HasselbeckMaking history, on 4th November Democrat Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States. History was again made the morning after when Elisabeth Hasselbeck, co-host, longtime panelist of 'The View' - a five-woman talk show and a vocal support of Republican presidential hopeful John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, did not feel any outrage over Obama winning the election. When Joy Behar, her Democratic co-host asked: 'Are you saying I was right all along?', Hasselbeck not only smiled, she also gave Behar a fist bump.

Launching a heated debate over a historic moment that saw America electing its first black president, Sherri Shepherd on ABC's morning chat fest 'The View' broke down saying she could now tell her son, Obama's victory meant he had 'no limitations'. Recalling how her ambition as a young girl had been to become a comic and an actor, she had been advised against it by her family, who told her 'to go get a job in the post office, they don't let people like us do that'.

Cheers and positive reactions from both Obama and McCain's supporters had Hasselbeck switching sides to get in a long line of supporters 'for this president' saying: 'Today is a victory for this country. The first black president. The first black first lady. The first black family. I haven't felt this good...'

Goldberg had the audience whooping in the aisles and going wild when she declared: 'You know what I think is really exciting is that there's gonna be some action in the White House. These are not two people who move in separate lanes. I think there's gonna be a whole lot of whoopee going on.' Sheri agreed: 'I thought President Obama was gonna pop her on the rear-end... he loves his wife!'
