Gujarat NRE enters into a contract with Joy Manufacturing
The Indian subsidiary of Australian company, Gujarat NRE Coking Coal Limited entered into a contact with Joy Manufacturing Company Pty Limited. This would deal with the supply of Longwall systems.
The total worth of the contract is approximately $90 million.
As per the agreement, Joy Manufacturing will be providing Long Walls to NRE No. 1 mine for the next six years. The systems will have specifications and would have to be supplied with 145 meters in width during 2011. This would change for the next five years and would be extended up to 390 meters.
Besides this, the contract between the two companies also includes the purchase of 183 meters Longwall coal clearance. This would then be used in the upgradtion of the existing NRE Wongawilli mine. The time limit for this has been fixed as 2013.
Joy Manufacturing will also have to bear the responsibility of the turnkey for NRE No. 1 mine. It will also have to look after the upgradation and co-ordination for NRE Wongawilli.
Talking about this, the Chairman of Gujarat NRE, Arun Kumar Jagatramka said that the deal will help Gujarat NRE to expand its production to 6 million tons per annum.
