Graco Recalls 1.5 Million Strollers

GracoNewell Rubbermaid’s unit, Graco Children’s Products Inc, has recalled roughly 1.5 million strollers right after the CPCS, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, got many complaints of fingertips of children being amputated. It has been reported that Travel Systems, Graco’s Passage, Spree Strollers and Alano are recalling certain products due to laceration hazards and also fingertip amputation.

It was also reported that the consumers should restrain from using those recalled products that have been purchased from October 2004 and December 2009 from retailers including Walmart. It has been announced that CPCS had received about 5 amputation complaints and 2 laceration complaints in fingertips of children.

In spite of all the recalls, there were no public comments from the officials Newell Rubbermaid. It is an interesting fact that Maclaren USA Inc had recalled almost one million strollers that were sold in the United States over the past ten years in the month of November last year after they received about a dozen complaints along the same lines that the fingertips got amputated when it got caught in the hinges of the stroller.
